  9.     The Ariane 42P is a three-stage liquid-propellant launch vehicle augmented by two strap-on solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. It stands just over 58 meters tall and can carry a payload of over 2600 kilograms. The first two stages are powered by hypergolic propellants hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide, while the third stage is powered by liquid oxygen and hydrogen.
